This notice explains how Voltkett uses personal information when you make an enquiry or arrange electrical work.
Who is responsible for your information
Voltkett is the trading name of Duane Bowkett, a sole trader and the data controller for the information described here. You can contact Duane at duane.voltkett@yahoo.com or on 07807 435582.
Information collected
The website enquiry form uses the name, postcode and job details you enter only to prepare a WhatsApp message on your device. The form does not send those details to or store them on the Voltkett website. If you then contact Voltkett by phone, email or WhatsApp, information you choose to provide may include your name, contact details, address or postcode, job details, photographs and preferred appointment times. If work goes ahead, quotation, appointment, payment, invoice, testing and certification information may also be kept.
How and why it is used
Your information is used to answer enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange and carry out work, issue invoices and certificates, keep appropriate safety and business records, and manage any questions or claims. The lawful bases relied on are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, meeting legal obligations and legitimate business interests such as record-keeping and resolving disputes.
Sharing and international processing
Information is not sold. It may be handled by communication, email, phone, payment, accounting or cloud-service providers used to run the business. It may also be shared with insurers, professional advisers, certification or notification bodies, regulators or authorities where necessary. Some service providers, including WhatsApp or email providers, may process information outside the UK under the safeguards described in their own privacy information.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not proceed are normally kept for no more than 12 months. Job, invoice, payment, testing and certification records are kept only for as long as needed for tax, safety, warranty, insurance and legal purposes. Records supporting self-employed tax returns are kept for the period required by HMRC.
Your rights
You may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer or to object to certain uses. These rights depend on the circumstances and are not always absolute. Contact Duane first if you have a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Website links
Submitting the enquiry form or choosing a WhatsApp or email link opens a service operated by another provider. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it there. That provider's own privacy and security terms then apply. Voltkett does not use this website for advertising or marketing analytics.
